The Vischmarkt is one of the historic squares in the Gelderland town of Harderwijk on the former Zuiderzee, now on the Veluwerandmeren where the Veluwemeer merges into the Wolderwijd. At the end of the Vischmarkt on the sea side - as with all squares and greens in old Harderwijk - there is a city gate, here the Vischpoort.

Traffic and transport
South of Harderwijk, the A28 motorway runs from Utrecht to Groningen. The second important traffic artery is the N302 from Lelystad to Apeldoorn.

Harderwijk is served twice per hour in each direction by the sprinter Zwolle - Utrecht (see also: Central Railway). Harderwijk is also the regional hub for about 15 bus services on the Veluwe and in Flevoland.

Attractions

Dolfinarium Harderwijk is the largest marine mammal park in Europe and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. The park was founded in 1955 as a sideline to the operation of a playground.
